Only took to myself to escape
years contained inside, life without shape
hostage to my thoughts each day
a ransom that no one could pay
my vault, like a nuclear bunker
deeply dug under, in slumber
world carried on above my hideout
I sat avoiding the fallout
A retreat, an island in this dark sea
stops anyone from visiting me
surrounded by ships,mines and sharks
my shelter the only landmark
this shell, a cell, deep in hell
hard to escape I could tell
built so well, crafted with tears
to find peace within will take years
one day it will fall as all walls should,
reclaim our place in this global neighbourhood
free from this prison of the mind, this cage of mine
so lets smash it down, one brick at a time
thanks for reading,
kyle
