The majestic night

You are

the full moon

shining

under my

sprinkled stars.

You fill the sky

with love,

kiss the ground

with lips

of illuminating light

Stirring the darkness

into a swirling

whirlpool, the majestic night.

You are the forest

into which

I escape,

to unwind.

You are destiny

to my scribbled clumsy lines.

You are the beat of the clock,

as it ticks and tocks.

I am the alarm

that wakes with a shock.

Entwined within

the threads of time.

You open all the doorways

in my mind, pull up the blinds

to let in your warming sunshine,

and unleash a wind, ferocious yet kind

to unclutter the thoughts

that have become covered in grime.

You are the still ocean,

under my stormy sky,

not letting the blustery weather

cause a ripple,

nor blemish your pristine shine.

You are the sand dunes,

mountains of dust so fine,

Golden, heavenly, divine.

You are the rivers

to my crumbling banks.

You course through my life,

I stand entranced.

falling apart as you advance.

Hear the trumpets play

Did I hear the trumpet play?

Was it the first or last?

The locusts will have a field day

now that eternal darkness

has been cast.

Did I hear a neigh?

Are the horsemen on their way?

No, our leaders deny,

Yay say the preacher in reply,

we are nearing that day.

The population didn't hear a thing,

or if they did they

are too scared to say.

Fear of ridicule,

their tongues

neither speak nor sing.

The prophets said

that we would know,

but the books

have become a script,

there to just follow

and not a pathway opening.

One day we will see

what the dead sea

sings mournfully

and on that day

will we sway

solemnly into eternity?

Who threw the first stone,

who cast the last?

It’s not about blame,

to atone we should

look in shame

at what we have become

and in whose name.

We have so much to share

yet we always

end up reaching for the gun.

There have been messages,

countless prophets, telling us

declare love, unite,

spare the fight.

Hell is empty

the demons took flight.

Heaven is empty,

the angels nowhere in sight.

They saw that humankind

wasn't worth the fight

and wandered off into the night.

Kyle Coare - Words rain

Letting my mind play

I sometimes

sit.

Letting my

mind play.

I'll look in

on it,

but I'll take

a back seat.

The mind

like a child,

yearns to learn and grow.

Flourishing like a flower

in a meadow of dusty grey,

bringing back the colour,

to the landscape below.

I'll sit.

Writing the things it

says,

innocent nonsense

makes no sense

or so it seems.

I'll often sit,

whilst

my mind wanders

aimlessly.

Climbing trees,

feeling unafraid

in the spring breeze.

He explores,

as I sit behind closed doors.

But every now and then

I'll peek in

and listen to the words

that pour free.

Writing them down,

with this pen

I always carry with me.

I'll only catch

bits and pieces.

Lines littered

here and there,

fragments of memories.

Floating

to grab from the air.

I'll place them carefully

on the pristine page,

scratching my scrawled handwriting.

Then I'll look down

and realise the words

were giving me

a map away from the cold,

into the warming hug of your soul.
