Through the haze, monstrous yellow eyes gaze
lost deep in a twisting turning maze
smoke and mirrors, the chasing pack so vicious
their malicious growls howl, the echo repetitious
Staring back into my own face, fear stained lips
tastes like hate, it drips, drips, drips
the snarling crowd attacks with perfect precision
smoke and mirrors, in this labyrinth of fog and distorted visions
Tear stained eyes, bloodshot and wide
reflect back into their holes, the memories they hide
smoke and mirrors, the evil delivers
as i stare back at myself, quaking in deep shivers
The hunter chases me down, or am I the one chasing
all I know is I'm running, legs pounding the pavement, this new life I'm craving
I was cornered, smoke and mirrors, the blood spilt rivers
the threatening horde, so many shadowy figures
Who is the prey, is it me or the one that was once in my skin
my reflection, no longer the person I saw, not the man I was then
face no longer that of a scared lost boy, found my place here
the smoke clears and the mirror's tears disappear
Thanks For Reading,
Peace And Love.
Kyle.
