Take a thought,
sprinkle it with fine magic dust,
add it to the little chalkboard in my head,
hopefully I'll notice it again
amongst the scribbles.
Those old childlike pictures
that come to me in a dribble.
Scrawled in crayon,
but it feels like neon
burning brightly
into my inner vision.
Take a thought,
wrap it in the finest blanket.
Add it to the den I've created in my head,
the one that reminds me of childhood.
Where we would
walk for hours,
miles
lost in our own mind floods.
Exploring,
looking for adventure,
discovering
lost hidden treasure.
Take a thought and coat it in glitter.
Let it sparkle, like the summers of old,
where the sun shone bright and gold.
Where we could always find excitement,
whatever the weather
and fairweather friends were like those feathered fiends,
flapping their wings before soaring away
but we always had forever and a day.
To spend on us,
my thoughts and me.
