Critical failure.
All hands on deck.
Must be bad wiring,
the system is misfiring,
the whole thing is a wreak.
Man down. Repeat man down.
Alarms and sirens
pierce the air with agonising sounds.
Critical failure.
It's all gone to pot,
the mainframe is blown,
the circuits are shot.
We are slowly sinking,
lights are all blinking.
On and off.
Off and on.
As this ship starts to fill,
the outcome seems foregone.
Critical failure.
Shutdown imminent.
Self-destruct in 10, 9, 8
Evidently, we are in dire straits,
it may already be too late.
Am I ready to accept my fate?
7, 6, 5
It's gonna blow,
get out with your life,
before the credits start to show
the water starts to fill
aand tears slowly flow.
4, 3, 2
Now run.
There is nothing else we can do.
Can you swim?
Might be a good time to learn
It's either that or sinking deeper in.
1
Hope is gone.
The water is rushing,
sloshing around.
The light blinks off
the system is down.
Water, head high
frothing and bubbling
as I start to drown.
But there is still energy in the circuits,
electricity coursing through the lines.
Recharging itself a second at a time.
Leave it be. Let it rest.
Tread water, put on your floatation vest.
Fire off the emergency flares,
help will be here soon
from people who care.
