Mistletoe Kisses

Like stars in a clear sky

lights sparkle and twinkle as colours intensify

illuminating the darkened air

breath evaporating against the chill

like a spirit departing the glare

the air dead still

Baubles red and gold

promise of heat against the cold

as snow teases its powdery arrival

just a sprinkle of flakes dusting the ground

begging for survival

Candles flicker against windowpane screens

misty air envelops the wintery scene

for a moment it's like the world has travelled back in time

a Dickensian picture of yule time mulled wine

and Christmases entwined in mistletoe kisses

the icy chill as the air fills with moonlit snow confetti wishes

The ghostly echoes of festive songs

church bells ringing along

Fir tree scented air, tinged with nutmeg and cinnamon

the dazzling glare of rainbow lights

scaring demons out of sight

as carol singers huddle close and sing silent night

the snow falls faster, the ground now glistening

a thin layer of crisp white

untouched under starlight twinkling

Ice forming, waterways glinting

like they hold light within

the cold touch of winter fingers

against delicate skin

like a snow globe fantasy

shook up, flurries of crystalline dreams

shimmering in the gleam of shining moonbeams

Thanks For Reading,

Peace & Love.

Kyle.
