Northbound road

Motorway service station

destination... unknown location

snowy ground along the southbound

sounds playing loud on the stereo

watching life slide by through a hot chocolate high

over the lights of our dashboard paradise

Northbound road we watch as snow grows along embankments

like flowers, white, speckled with pollution

smoke making its intrusion

windswept the cold crept into our bones

through the windscreen's distorted tones

A slow crawl, besides fields - crisp linen sheets

alongside icy waterways, silent hidden streets

fog covers our view,

hazily obscuring the world we knew

offering a postage stamp look at what lies ahead

on this northern stretch of tarmac and dread

In the warmth, comfort and calm

by fire side, away from the storm

as the snow melts near open flames

evaporating into tears of rain

keeping warm our breath - mist meeting the air

blissfully unaware of the terrors out there

Thanks For Reading,

Peace, Love and Poetry

Kyle.
