to trust the light,
fear the dark
be scared of the shadows.
To find all that is sought
we must fall in line,
not question the fine print.
We are given a choice. Or so we are told.
A pathway lit by beacon light.
Lamp holder's hand point us in.
A clearing, in a field of wheat,
a maze it seems.
Two pathways, but which to choose?
You argue and split.
Two teams.opposite
and you walk straight in
Both routes are littered with traps and pits,
picking off members of our little cliques.
As the numbers dwindle slowly downwards,
the pathway continues forwards.
Turning back would be admitting you were wrong,
so you carry on.
On the other path the same exact tricks,
the same obstacles. The same bearpits.
What you don't see from this grounded perspective
is that both of the pathways are connected.
They converge at a point a little down the line.
The destination was set from the very start of time
and you end up right where they wanted you.
Lost and alone begging for help
feeling there’s nothing you can do.
Now the beacon holder's light hides a truth in the dark.
Behind the glare that blinds out there,
is another pathway,
one that they don't want you to walk.
This pathway takes us to a new destiny.
A destination without oppression,
where love, hope and unity are the belief.
A destiny with no tyranny
So, when they shine their light telling you which way to walk,
take your time
and search through the dark.
