Lay in the darkness,
let it embrace you,
soak up the night,
cast your eyes wide
and see the magic
that conjures
itself upon your skies.
The twinkling lights,
in pitch black cries.
The void that sighs
with eternal flight.
The fairy dust that
sprinkles down upon us.
The love that soars
in the echoes of wanderlust.
The battles you have waged,
the wars you fought,
the demons you fight.
All gone to sleep for the night.
Nothing else matters
apart from the canvas above your eyes.
Watch as those twin comets glide,
the meteors that shower the sky,
watch the darkened blues
become a rainbow of colours new,
as you attune to the frequencies
that normally avoid you.
Set your skies ablaze,
let your mind read the waves.
Let your eyes see the glaze
of all new worlds
that are growing around you.
Let the glow
slowly sleep
inside you.
With the hearts
that beat nearest.
The ones you hold dearest.
Let them see this moment
of fragility in a world of glass.
For if you open your arms wide
they would climb inside,
just to hold you tighter.
Because love isn’t about class,
It isn’t like blood or water,
It isn’t like religion, it holds no mass.
It is the universe holding your hand,
through the fingers of another,
and knowing that they also feel
the flutter of the butterfly wings of time.
So, lay in the darkness with me,
let us look and see
the vastness of eternity.
For our time is fleeting
and whilst hearts are beating
I want to share
the universe with you.
Let us explore the heavens above,
whilst we explore
the thoughts that flow
in the rivers of consciousness.
