Tell me something true

 

Could you tell me something true?

If I wrote you a dream in return

would you whisper in rhyme

all that makes your sun shine through?

The things that sit so beautifully for you.

Would you give me a moment of time,

to learn a monumental piece of your life?

So that I can entwine it in this heart of mine.

Where all of my truth lives waiting to be unwound.

 

Could you tell me something true?

If I sung a fantasy

of evergreen sunset symmetry,

would you sink into my memories

and leave a memento of your life,

so that my mind can become a treasury

of the love you ignite?

And if I could whisper a truth to you,

would you listen,

let it sink into you?

If I spoke,

softly spoke the words,

would they land

in a warming cuddle

with the truth that embodies you?

 

Could you tell me something real?

Something honest,

something you are afraid to reveal,

for what you conceal

is the truth that will help you heal.

 

Could you tell me you truth?

I’ll give mine in return,

a bond we can only earn

when our worries are overturned

through our shared

honest desire to burn brighter than the sun.

A match that can’t burn away for anyone.

We can learn everything

that makes our hearts yearn

and flip it into something beautiful,

if we let the truth share its concern.

So, share with me a truth or two

and I’ll give all of me to you.

Its already yours anyway,

you only need to read the words I say.
