I want to walk with you
under the midnight sky,
seeing the stars
shine your name,
the moon
reflecting in your eyes.
We don’t need masks,
or to hide who we are,
just soak up the light
from the northern star
and fall into each other's arms.
Where we can
carry each other’s hearts.
Trust in this,
I want to make
the skies glow fluorescent,
I want to fill it with
all the pleasant colours of a rainbow.
Painted in words spoken
when I see your eyes grow wide
from the beautiful countryside
that you hold deep inside.
We will just bleed into the night
Two souls in flight,
no love too big
nor lust too slight,
with just our hearts as guides,
we will get the blend right.
Trust in the moon
for she whispers to you
in words I granted her witness to.
I would give my heart
to spend just a day or two
in the presence of a mind
as beautiful and true
as the one that fires
the imagination within you.
I would give away everything,
just to hear your voice
in its sing song speech,
leading me on a dance
through the green shoots
of this newborn hope.
I would give away
all worthless possessions,
every ornament
I’ve gained on this journey.
All the trophies and trinkets,
just material,
that I’d no longer need,
as with you, I’m in heaven.
because in you I believe.
