Longest night

A night can live a lifetime, draining beauty
memories like scenes from a movie
cluttered thoughts, visions unfold
story lines long untold

A day can last forever in the mind
memories can be so unkind
like photographs soaked with pain
the coldness takes over infects the brain

A face can stay forever in the eyes
an unwanted guest inside the shielded parts, memorised
scattered throughout, to come out when feeling the lows
in this story time, told by dark shadows

A smile can become a grimace, a hateful smirk
when demons of darkness take the image, do their work
memories distorted over time by the broken mind
come out when the eyes close their blinds

Words spoken in stuttered haste
seem such a waste
when history books rewrite the story, the longest night
when the darkness makes the story bare its teeth and bite

Thanks for reading.
Peace & Love.
Kyle.
