Searching for love

Slap on your smiles, painted to look the part
flash the flesh, surely the way to his heart
you lay back think happy thoughts, think you know love
think it should be easy, another thing you feel unworthy of

Always searching, something else, to ease the clouded brain
to sweep you off your feet, to erase all the past pain
none offers what you really seek, someone who sees beneath it all
who understands, that the outside is just screaming as it falls

You show all you have on offer, to crush your own doubt
it helps to forget, let the hurt creep out
you lay it out for all to view, you think they show love
its just a game for them, a night of fun they can dispose of

The world can offer more, if you open your heart
let the love inside rather than depart
not just a physical attraction, a connection of sorts
where minds find time to bind, hearts entwine in support

Not just a contact sport
a sharing of like thoughts
where the words light up the night, like stars above
they shine so bright, they shine like love

Thanks for reading.
Peace and Love.
Kyle.
