Disenchanted youth

Disenchanted, stories of stolen youth
blinded, blindsided, broken by the world so uncouth
the hopes once held high, now just burnt down
amongst the wreckage strewn around

Disillusioned, delusional product of false memory
where the fun never ended, the songs had energy
the party lasted all night
forever and always, you told that lie

Disconnected, lost our place, lost the way
no map could guide, no book had the right words to say
just a generation of chances never taken
led by the hand into damnation

Disenfranchised, mouths sewn shut, generation of brain death
words never uttered, nor muttered under shallow breath
just followed the herd, follow the money, forget when the sun used to beam
forget the simplest of things, just a doped up crowd of lost dreams

Burnt in rage, blank stares behind dead eyes
injected hate into the veins, an aftermath of ingested lies
drank the poison offered, fuelled a nations decline
we all forgot the lines, we lost our chance to shine

Thanks for reading,
Peace & Love.
Kyle.
