Rainbow maker

Fill the space, colour the void

paint the page, dye this grey heart, unemployed

you are the brush, you touch the paper

add joy and warmth, you are the rainbow maker

Decorate this monochrome world with a spectrum of love

replace the greys, let the reds through, blue sky above

purple fountains, shine bright in the yellow light

green grows to replace the concrete so dull a sight

Be the depth and tone, fill the spaces between

paint by numbers, two of us, one true story to be seen

help to add the complexity to this black and white outline

with your touch, you tint the canvas with colours so fine

Add your colour wash, brighten these greyscale days

and add love to the sepia tinged sky on dark nights away

let the colours mix and mingle, like lovers embrace

see new tones sweeping through the bland, blank spaces
