Earth Mark Two (with Video)

Takes off with a whoosh, as the engines combust
we hit full thrust
our rockets boost us towards the stars, farewell to this earth shaped hell
cracking through the outer stew of our atmospheric shell

And we are in space, viewed through a tiny window its so difficult to perceive
it seems to be so much more colourful than I was led to believe
not just a blank black state, its a clean slate, with magic between the stars to fascinate
a universe ahead, just a dead planet in our stead, we take our time to contemplate

I see the world waving so long, the dusty smoke clouds visible to all
a sad goodbye to our last known ally, our home for so long - now just a place to recall
we fly, through the stardust nebula, passed meteors and comets
like floating dreams where we take to the air, we soar up there with so much promise

We sail past planets with oceans of rainbow water, vast depths to discover
where diamond rains fall, reflecting prisms of light into kaleidoscopic colours
and yet I still miss home, its greens and blues, the trees we knew
all of the wonders that we neglected before the last days were due

So far away, in some distant galaxy, passed alien wonders
monolithic structures, strange fauna, storms of unearthly thunder
all so beautiful, yet it feels so lonely
if only we could share this with home, if only

Supernova star burst blinds the sky, in our new home
two moons and rolling sand dunes, an atmospheric dome
the fuel was running low, so this will have to do
we rebuild in this place - now renamed Earth mark two

Thanks For Reading.
Peace & Love.
Kyle.
