Memories of Blue

When the lights are low, dark and blue
they flow into view, reflecting the mood
filling the room - a sullen sunken gloom
with memories; Shadows born to moonlight's anguished cries
glances at yesterdays weary goodbyes

Memories painted blue, no longer feel true
just a black hole piercing through
to where once there sat a star burning bright
now just another lonely night

Memories of blue - I cry
faded scars on skin - a patchwork quilt of the stories within
memories of you and I
yesterdays dreams - today's tears wearing thin

Memories of blue quickly fade to grey
when the downpour drains the colour away
memories of you take longer to fade
those moments I wish we could have saved

Memories in blue, like seeing underwater
where the whirlpools swirl in spiral dances, I get pulled under
to where the chances at hope helped us breathe
to those memories, when you said you'd never leave

When the colour fades the stains don't wash away - they set
like indelible ink on bare flesh, a tattoo of pain and regret
just memories in blue, a painted picture view
of those days that I trusted in a future for me and you

Thanks For Reading.
Peace & Love.
Kyle.
