Not A Toy

You wind up the dial
pull the string. And let me go
set me off knowing I'll fall
you set me up to fail
I give up, no more this has to stop
I'm not a spinning top
nor a toy for you to play games
not a virtual pet and would you have the attention span
I'm not action man
nor Ken, not something you can leave in a drawer
I'm more like a broken jigsaw
my pieces missing, I’m not your plaything
this is not a game of queens and kings

I'm no play doh to mould into shape
a doll whose hair you can make
not an etch a sketch picture that you can erase
I'm a man with a heart. It's sat in place
you can’t rearrange the edges like a Rubik’s cube
I'm disjointed true. But don’t try to make me fit your view

I'm not a game for when you are bored
nor a get out of jail free card
I'm a man who gives love a chance
the community chest test is best expressed
In verse and rhyme.
I'm a man with a heart and love to attest
if you want to invest, then don’t flip the board
just play fair and we all get rewards
you don’t have the monopoly on pain
so, share the words
let them inspire thoughts - like runaway trains

Roll the dice
take a chance on an ace of hearts
the results could be nice
if you wait for the clouds of distrust to depart
I’m not a battleship that you can sink
nor a cheap plastic toy found with a burger and a drink
I will help if you fall
I won’t disappear like pogs, I’m here for the long haul

Thanks for reading.
peace & love.
Kyle.
