Sand Castles

It feels like I've been reflecting on the minutiae

the belly button fluff of life

ignoring the vast ocean sized opportunities

that fly past closed eyes

moments of love that we take for granted

how a heart can sing even when it is sat quietly

It's like we don’t see the beach

just sandcastles destroyed at our feet

ignoring the great golden landscape

only focusing on the moments that deflate

we don't see the smiles that light up

we don’t notice the way our words can raise

 when we give praise

Feels Like I’m in a city of people

yet I’m alone, like I'm not an equal

In a home but feel like I've nowhere to belong

like a song with no music to play along

ignoring the things that make us unique

the way we speak

the way it feels when arms reach

we only listen to hate that people preach

It's like we can’t see the painting

only the oily brush strokes contained within

nor see the sky full of rainbow colour

because a single drop of rain is obscuring

we miss the greater things

the moments where the sun shines bright

when we smile, our music plays loud

but silence is deafening in the middle of the night

If we can stand proud

and look at the life inside

ignore the developing storm clouds

that is when we can enjoy the ride

Thanks For Reading,

Peace & Love.

Kyle.
