My eyes sigh
in weary waves
as the wheels
rumble beneath.
The engine purring
me to sleep.
Lullabies sing in
angel tones
across
my headphones,
as the fluorescent light
swims in my view.
My aching bones
feel so heavy today.
My heart moans,
so hungry to beat
together with yours,
yet I sit here alone
watching the dreams
sat in seats
just feet from
me, swaying to
the motion of
the roadway ocean.
My love light
always
burned bright
along this journey,
but every mile
the sight
fades into
a forgotten
dream.
And my eyes sigh.
Tears threatening
to embark
upon a journey
from my eyes
to the seat beside.
My mind left
somewhere
in the dark,
but the angel
still sings lullabies
and in the corner
of my mouth
a smile
starts to rise.
