Raindrops dance
in crossing light
reflections.
The yellow splits
into dark grey,
soaking through
like ink blots
upon a page,
warping the yellow
as they
churn the view.
The sky opens up
casting her thoughts upon us,
streetlights catch every streak
like meteors across a darkened sky.
We soak it up like a therapist,
we hear every word,
every call of the heart.
Every drop of hurt,
every tear that falls,
every wailing wind.
And as we listen
umbrellas sway in the distance
as they cross
road riverways
glistening like starlight
As they disappear
like dreams
that fade in the day.
As they disappear
like hope down a drain.
Ghostly headlights
flood the street with light
watching the hooded masses
as they disappear
like ghosts in the rain.
Gurgling away
into another
redundant memory
of another night.
