Heroes unsung, receive no pay cheque
their words raised me, saved me from a burning wreck
diffused the bomb with seconds remaining
caught me when i fell off the ledge, never once complaining
Heroes saved me on my darkest night
helped me through the longest fight
they don't wear their pants over their tights
or a cape that flaps as they hit the heights
Don't need a magic word to conjure them, and they are no quitters
they didn't get bitten by any radioactive critters
heroes don't only come out in darkness, are there day and night
if you need they are always ready to hold you tight
Heroes helped me find my lost smile
walked with me on those long miles
saved me from the snipers nest
diving in with no bullet proof vest
Not a billionaire playing dressing up games
nor a god with an hammer, if i need a handyman i know his name
no big green monster to smash things apart
don't need to light up a signal in the sky, a text does the part
Not drawn on comic book pages
a tale told through the ages
not an adventure on the silver screen
just in the hearts of family and friends, not a costume between
Thanks for reading.
Peace & Love
Kyle.
