Standing on this deserted shoreline
are we waving hope away, facing a decline
waiting for our final curtain
as the sun drops over the horizon
Can't we just see this through, be together me and you
let our hearts beat as they used to do
people say we are so different
but without you I feel insignificant
I look out over silent oceans and empty seas
here on this shore so lonely, no you, just me
I listen to the howling wind
my truest friend, the weather that it brings
The waves glisten under the shimmering sunlight
in dreams we would hold tight and take flight
here on this cold beach my dreams died
you out of reach, no longer here by my side
The coast, a last toast, farewell to old ghosts
the sand beneath my toes, the waters washing away our oaths
As the tide pulls away, I sway and turn away
a tear in my eye, a cry for another day
are we waving hope away, facing a decline
waiting for our final curtain
as the sun drops over the horizon
Can't we just see this through, be together me and you
let our hearts beat as they used to do
people say we are so different
but without you I feel insignificant
I look out over silent oceans and empty seas
here on this shore so lonely, no you, just me
I listen to the howling wind
my truest friend, the weather that it brings
The waves glisten under the shimmering sunlight
in dreams we would hold tight and take flight
here on this cold beach my dreams died
you out of reach, no longer here by my side
The coast, a last toast, farewell to old ghosts
the sand beneath my toes, the waters washing away our oaths
As the tide pulls away, I sway and turn away
a tear in my eye, a cry for another day
Thanks for reading,
Peace & Love.
