Imagination

Let imagination run - like a tap on full flow
turn your mind into a sponge, soak up the crystal aqua afterglow
don't let people try to plug the waters or cease the flood
they cant stem the torrents of thought - that is your lifeblood

Let dreams fill your mind to the brim
then take a dive under the waves and swim
don't let the dark depths bring fear
explore instead, the sea of thoughts running clear

Let yourself be you, who you know to be real
not a fake aiming for ideals
or something that you think is expected of your ordeals
don't let others sway your thoughts - they can be your best friends on cold nights
let them hold you by the hand, showing you wonders - taking in a showcase of dazzling lights

Let the images delight, like a bird taking flight
let the beating of its wings, inspire true insights
don't let people shoot them down by filling you with dread
let your head dance in the heights instead

let hope surround like clouds, converging before a downpour
then lie back and hear the sky roar, ignoring the life led before
don't let the dark edges of a storm singed cloud
ground the sparks that fire in your mind
instead let the electricity light the mist enshrouded ground
with a flash to show the path you need to find  

Let the smiles guide
avoid sitting in fear, as frowns take you for a ride
don't let pride stop you from enjoying this life
dance as if the fear doesn't make you writhe

Let tomorrow wait for you, as you live in today enjoying all on view
don't rush to reach the end, take time to enjoy being you
don't look through yesterdays picture book, as a lost place
let it educate -  a school of escapades, one in which you gained the highest grades
