Drawn to you

Don’t know where we're going

or where this road will turn

but I'm drawn to you

like a flame needs to burn

like a moth seeking solace in the bright lights

a sightseer lost in the city’s colourful sights

 

Don’t know where we are heading

if this road comes to a dead end

a one-way street

but I'm drawn to you

the beauty that I seek

I'm like a magpie searching for something shiny

the lights are bright, but I'm not frightened

like a rainbow enticing me

I feel if I follow the road, I'll become enlightened

 

Don’t know whether this is the right path

but I fear if I don’t follow

happiness is something I'll never know

the journey more than the destination

like a joyride we feel our heartbeats elevating

and I'm drawn to you, like a blank canvas needs paint

like a perfect landscape deserves a frame

and I want to let our lives entwine

because when I walk with you,

I want your hand drawn to mine

 

Don’t know if our paths are predestined

but I feel I have no option, amongst all the confusion

but to follow this one to its conclusion

because to you I feel drawn

like a river to the sea

water flowing free, like lovers sat under an old tree

a mountain to the clouds, summit always out of reach

like waves to a beach, music to a beat,

two stories ready to meet

I want to share in this life that we discover

because I'm drawn to you 

like a blank page needs colour
