I was calling your name
from somewhere
deep in a dream.
I was speaking
to the stars as I lay
lit by the light
of loves candle flames,
moondrop sequins
spelling out your name.
I spoke
and your
name spilled
from my lips
like a kiss floating
through fields of love.
A constellation of teardrops
glistened upon my cheek,
lit by a dream in candlelight.
A symphony of night
sang out above.
I was calling your name
in the stardust candy sunset,
a starburst of light settled on my face
and I could feel the warmth
easing into place. A cosmic embrace.
As the wind howled
like the wailing undead,
my comatose heart
started to beat again,
it fought through the veils of dread
that hung like torn flags over my head,
and I felt peace
slowly starting
to comfort me instead.
I was calling your name
the way it feels
when your notepad speaks,
when you need to release
the thoughts in your head.
In my translucent dreams
I pictured you in my room
beside my bed.
The only entry on my bucket list
crossed out in heavy marker,
replaced with a heart instead,
and I kept on dreaming,
but now my lips stayed silent
for I knew
that no more words
needed to be said.
