Idle hands are the devils plaything,
or so the idiom states.
and when those hands Idle over buttons
primed with death, make no mistake.
The devil is at play,
and the prize is our untimely fates
They idolise death,
they hold war and conquest
close to their chests,
and when famine strikes
like a missile in the cold night,
they ask us to pull our belts tight.
Put our money into the kitty
whilst they provide nothing but catnip
to our needs. A penny not very pretty
when you have a family to feed.
When pestilence rides into to town,
they lock you down, funding their friends
to provide hospital gowns, that don’t work.
Then they smirk on tv telling us, it's criminal
to go out for a jog, but dance and party,
splash the booze, thats just a perk of the job.
The devil is in the detail,
they want our money to go to big retail.
Greed makes them work.
Their itching trigger fingers primed to click,
sell another arms shipment.
Fund war and enslavement.
Tell the people that they sick,
for wanting a caring government,
not a collection of hypocrites.
Whilst they tear apart this country limb by limb,
only wanting to see figures prevail and sing,
projected on a spreadsheet
Their prayer book, complete with their favourite hymns.
They just need you.
Keep calm carry on. Do your bit.
Honest we will get the county out of the shit,
they say whilst ploughing more of it
waist deep into our already full waterways.
They want you to distrust one another,
turn brother against brother,
twist issues into a matter of colour,
all to distract and to hold people back.
They hate humanity enough
to meddle with devastating stuff,
That could put us all to death
With just the wrong word
muttered under their breath
So, dig deep, Radiation clouds could
Creep heavily overhead.
And where will they be?
Some island paradise wrapped up in bed
And with all of this they want our trust?
