I hear you
when the songbird speaks,
just before it
lets out its lonely tweet.
The seedling thought
spreading from
its fledgling beak.
I hear you
in the breath it breathes.
Deeply inhaling
then releasing love
into the air
that leaves.
You are the stray
rainbows that appear
near the water’s edge,
like a smile greeting the day.
You are the first drops
of snow on a winter’s tale.
The beautiful falling leaf
that follows
in the gentle wind sway.
The colours that stay etched to the eye.
Like a carved name upon the bark of time,
and I want our two names entwined
like roots beneath this forest of mine.
You laid a daisy chain of expression.
A tantalising taste of heaven,
lightly binding soft gentle ribbons
to my grains of introspection.
I started to feel the ground swelling.
A flourishing ocean of words flowering forth.
a chorus of birds. A pull deep to the core.
You spoke from the earth.
From the very depths underfoot.
You spoke from the skies a message of love.
You spoke in the tastes of a summer fruit cup
You spoke to me
and I drank it all down in a gulp.
I feel you in the warmth.
A golden cuddle from the sun.
Sun-kissed memories being formed.
I feel you in the dance of the early dawn
and the twilight embrace
when night-time forms.
I feel you
pushing me on,
like a hand on my shoulder
guiding towards to right horizon.
