A kiss can last a lifetime,
a special feeling
which doesn't just land on lips,
it slips silently into your mind
like a magic spell
enchanting your life
a little at a time.
Finding a place
to slowly unwind.
It lays down roots
as soft as the finest silk,
delicate strands that seek to enhance
by flowing through the essence of you
and your endless internal lands.
These roots can stretch miles,
every tingling nerve, every vein,
every place they can lay claim.
They have innocence
like the smiles of a baby,
and every time you
cry happy tears inside
you water these roots
a little at a time.
A kiss can last for eternity
as it slowly grows strong.
A kiss can weather storms
as its flowering buds start to form.
It can withstand
the creaking cold of heartache,
the bleak winter misery
that makes your soul break.
The stalks gently weaving
around your bones,
enclosing your organs
and holding them in love,
as it slowly grows leaves
and petals of sweetly
scented bright tones,
you feel the warmth from
the blanketing flowerbed of hope
starting to fire your heart again.
A kiss can last
beyond your last breath
Planting seeds in everything you do.
You sow the moments
that made you believe in you,
to share that hope in somebody new.
A kiss can change your world.
The ground no longer
solid concrete and stone,
Now you bounce
on fluffy marshmallow happiness
and candyfloss clouds.
Darkness finds it harder
to infiltrate your bubbling thoughts
that used to swirl around.
And wherever you stay
a smile always follows your heart
like the sunlight after a rainy day.
Let my words be a kiss
to land within your midst
and share some of the beauty
of this world where our crazed hearts
Surf the sunset and dance
in the moonlight bliss.
