Moonlight whispers
linger on the tongue.
A fizzing song, a gentle drifting
of yesterday's gone into days to come.
The words of hope ring on.
And in my heart, I know
that you hear them too,
and you know those words
are meant only for you.
I discard the robes of hurt,
I disregard the moments of pain,
I build monuments out of clay
to climb the star filled pathway.
Because it’s time to let my wings
spread wide
and let old memories glide away,
to be replaced by newborn life.
And the setting sun
left a gift in the shape of a kiss,
a heart sewn into the clouds.
A patchwork of yesterday's sighs
that is ripping down
the middle to be replaced
by clear blue skies
And now the moonlight glistens
as the stars listen to me speaking
and I know that in the words
of the heavens my name
sits embracing yours,
and as the poetry starts to pour
We will fly, of this I’m sure
for we are the stardust
and the universe wants us to shine.
