Priceless - napowrimo poem 5

What is my worth?

For my values

are all I have to offer,

so, what do I believe?

What is in the coffers?

I value truth,

how you speak so openly,

leaving no stones unturned,

to find that which you seek.

The way you undress lies

and then kick them out

onto the street.

Honesty is the seed

that can grow a forest of belief.

I value those that help us fly.

The ones that tell us to soar

and not fear the height.

I value those that hold on tight when

the day starts to crumble

into dust and you struggle to see the light.

The ones that offer a hand

when you are falling,

the ones that give

a push when stalling,

the ones that call

when you need calling.

I value being able to laugh

at every opportunity we get,

being able to see

the complexities of life

for the facade they really are.

I value play.

Letting my mind sail the stars.

I value trust.

Knowing that two planets

Won’t crash causing

their cores to combust.

I value us.

Every smile, every breath,

every bond we build over time.

I value love.
