Roadside shrine
marks the spot
bright lights no longer shine
days, like blurred headlights
never stopped
roses left in place
rotten down, forgotten now
by all but a handful of sad faces
The bouquet has seen better days
but blurred memories never fully fade
A star taken from the sky
light snuffed out in the blink of an eye
memorialised in flower mountains
piled high, shed tears in fountains
lived in high spirits
now thoughts only come for mere visits
The gulls above, screeching
bring it back in a flood
like demonic hands pulling them in
I didn't see them,
alcohol soaked words slurred
echo around his blurred world view
joyride to a death trip,
broken hearts rip
as tears drip
Taken from us
too young
life goes on
For most it goes on, like a song
but the lyrics sound so wrong
some never forget how the sun shined
how the final page of your story was left
undefined,
blurred signs
pointing to the wrong end of the street
where we used to meet
Thanks For Reading.
Peace & Love.
Kyle.
