Romance is Dead?

Romance is dead
buried under rotten flowerbed
at least six feet
the stale smell, pungent yet sweet
a warning not to delve too deep
this misery and woe follows me

Romance exits the stage
left to the right
only lasted a night
I gave her a flower
a rose to express my heart
she threw it back in my face
vase as well
not the perfect start

Romance took flight
to follow a different path
winged away, as I looked the other way
she flew by night
not a care in her heart
for the aftermath
left a world torn apart

Romance is gone
long forgotten
left town, heart let down
left it feeling rotten
as she sat on the bus
her back to me
never saw me waving
or that my heart was crying
craving her smile
to fill the void slowly occupying
a graveyard of old tears that spilled
romance stilled
like waters frozen over

Romance, null and void
it avoids me, leaves me empty
an emotionless android
maybe I’m dull
I don’t want to walk those same streets
or is it that I walk to a different beat
on these shiny metal feet
it sees a different journey for me

Romance could bloom.
but with whom?
in time, what sign
stars light the skies
when they become aligned
the future holds its cards
close to its chest
the queen of hearts
has heard your request

Thanks For Reading.
Peace & Love.
Kyle.
