World at Night

I wish to see the sights

of the world at night

The Eiffel Tower bathed in the skies romantic light

as we say the moon looks beautiful tonight

walking hand in hand, hearts tied

a flow of rose petals swept along the river wide

Getting lost in the love

of the city towering above

the alleys and byways

passages like a maze

under the satellites full gaze

always lighting the path

showing the way

I want to explore, deserted forests

sand covered beaches, mountaintop peaks

listening to the night’s tuneful chorus

your voice singing; joyous and flawless

A tear falls on my cheek

A love letter in tears, I weep

I wish to take your hand and hear stories

of life's mysteries and glories

as we drink the moonlight

reflect on silvery shimmering waterfalls

listening as an angel calls

and night covers all

I long to traverse oceans, journey to distant sands

with you at my side, rejoicing in new lands

as the moon touches the horizon

and the sun starts rising

I want to see the light in your eyes

reflecting love

a flutter of butterflies

As the birds sing their song to the new day’s skies
