Little things can give life meaning
when you have that sinking feeling
like your boat has sprung a leak
and all you have is a colander
to bail you out
it can all seem very bleak
sometimes it's the rays of light
drying up the water that makes
it feel like less of a fight
When the world has you down on the ground,
and continues its beating
kicking and biting, scratching and screaming
forcing you to beg
when all you want is to crawl
into a hole to escape the attack
sometimes it's the hand that pulls you back
the one that applies the pressure dressing
to stem the bleeding
that makes life worth living
When the fires of hell, are tickling your feet
when the sweat from your brow, burns in the heat
and all you can think is, 'when will this end?'
a kind word can be a godsend
an insightful talk, A shared joke
a smile that raises hope, that doesn’t prod or poke
when life locks you in the dark
the right words can be the key to unlock your heart
Sometimes it's the smallest thing
that breaks the cycle
like a sincere smile
that raises
when you give your time to praise
rather than cause hurt
or when you find a new part of town
that you have never wandered down
seeing all new sites with smiling eyes
sometimes thoughts take flight
the love seen in eyes, that look deep inside
it's those moments that we share
showing that we care
that fill life with hope instead of despair
Thanks For Reading.
Peace & Love.
Kyle.
