The way words twist, like roots
underneath weathered boots, stomping
out the sound, that gives the verse a beat
Poetry, grows under our feet
plants a seed in your head, deep
In thought, in sleep
reverberates until it is ready to break free
cracking through the surface to become a tree
It nourishes, like a steady rain
flourishes, as words start to mingle in your brain
until you can no longer contain, or hold them in
they leap from your head to the page
like bugs jumping
leaf to leaf in dance
words provide the stage
to avoid the downpour
they hide amongst the plants
Poetry flows like water from a leaf
sinks into the world beneath
from air to land, from oceans to sand
the words come from everywhere we stand
everything we see, each river and sea
every lake in between
every hug from you to me
it's in the people you meet, friends that greet
smiles and tears, every fluttered heartbeat
Poetry, the way words fall from me
like leaves out of an old tree, silently
landing on the page
congregating in piles
formulating sentences that span miles
journeys of heart and mind
take us beyond the ordinary
into a world of wonders to find
Thanks For Reading.
Peace & Love.
Kyle.
