Unsighted

You cover the pain inside

let it sit, dwell on it a bit

whilst outside you smile wide

Knowing that the feeling is unrequited

unsighted by those eyes

unfelt by the one you desire

 

The one you devote you mind to

doesn’t even notice you

One that makes your lips point to the sky

doesn’t seem to know that tears are cried

for the hope that you held close to your heart

She doesn’t even see you

or can’t see through

the clouds surrounding

when your heart stops pounding

 

The one that makes your soul feel kissed

doesn’t know you exist

To them you could be just another face in the crowd

never to be missed

When your heart walks away

you just fake a smile

The tears fill but never overflow,

hidden behind the facade that you show

 

Wells run dry

rivers lakes and seas

evaporate, empty

No tears could ever replace

the feelings that flood you inside, deep

You swim through skies

on summer days

inky dark, like the night

the sun rays won’t share their light
