I want to speak to you
a nightmare,
it resides inside,
it aches in your mind.
The eerie residue
of a mysterious view.
The man who stands
crooked against a wall
when light leaves the room.
Just in the corner,
hidden under the gloom.
You won't see him if you look his way,
he fades into the shade,
only when you divert your gaze.
does this vision become less opaque.
I want to share with you a nightmare.
A dream, which got twisted
and then came true.
A dream that if you were there,
would leave you choking in dispair.
The man in the corner stands
picking strands from his gown.
He only hangs around
once the moon has gone down.
Under his hood, a distorted mask,
a scream etched in place,
a scream with no face.
A scream,
too real
to be a figment
of this dream space.
I want to share with you
a nightmare,
the man in the black gown
is well prepared.
He stalks his prey,
pouring through the darkness
like ink in a bathtub.
He watches both night and day.
If you see him move
in the dim light
it’s like a stuttering
strobing Xray,
all bones and decay,
jittering across the floor
like insects creeping
all over your doubt.
I want,
No.
I need
to make you aware.
The being in this nightmare
is standing right there,
just behind you.
Don't move an inch.
Don't breathe.
Don't let that
startled gasp leave.
Don't blink.
Don't think of running.
Just be as still as the dead.
Clear all thoughts from your head,
and even though you feel
a twinge in your chest,
don't breathe.
Don't.
