Tyrants sit in high places,
so that all can gaze up at them.
Superiority complex,
whilst the common man
is worn down completely.
Lost at sea.
A stormy ocean of misery.
Price rises so we can't feed,
provide scraps, but only
if you adhere
to their list of demands.
If you are in arrears
They will cut you down.
Place you in remand
and blame it on society.
The society they create
by keeping us locked
in our own prison state
Disabled? That won't do.
They only need the fit and healthy few.
Our mouths not fit to feed,
not when they need
to protect the wealthy.
Destitution looms,
as devastation sits
in the waiting room,
a bullet to the temple,
no more dreams
humanity has failed it seems.

They make you feel equal,
that whatever you need is achievable.
They ignite thoughts not flames,
they show love not hate.
They welcome
they don't cast away,
they help
When you are losing your way.
They don't take your map
and place it in a box under lock and key,
so you are unable to find your way to safety.
True leaders don't beat up the weak,
True leaders don't make the world bleaker.
True leaders don't leave us on our knees
begging "please don't take away our dignity"
True leaders don't start fights
With their friends, they don't make money
their only aim. They don't play games
then blame the victims
for way they have been framed.
Tyranny sits in houses of power,
presidential palaces, political ivory towers,
and they will stay until our souls are devoured,
the riverways soured.
People sit feeling their last tether split.
They should have listened to Oppenheimer,
instead, they invested in arms
to flood the Geiger counters.
Apocalyptic aftermath fills the eyes,
last teardrop falls under atomic sky,
vapour cloud leaves no time to say goodb...
