A starlight angel came down to me
Sweetly she spoke
'We are star dust upon nature's wings'
And I awoke
no longer sleepy.
My heart broke free from the shackles
holding it down.
I planted myself in verses.
Let them bloom,
blossom bursts of the finest words
lifted through the gloom
on the winds of love reborn
Softly I flew on clouds of hope.
I knew, I know that the light
of day leads to a new road.
A place where the glisten of sun
settles on waves of glittery gold.
The shine of day leads to a night
where the stars sway in the sky
and the moon elevates our hearts.
And I will ride those rays of light,
knowing that life can never hold me down.
That hurt can’t stick around if I don’t let it.
Spent so long chasing the sunrise
when the moon was always my light.
I let my fleeting mind elope on fantasy rides
Whilst I stood aside losing hope
Never noticing that the stars
would align whenever I looked
at them glistening in the sky.
But now I know that truth lives inside
and the magic flows across
your beautiful countryside
If you would give me home
in your heart and mind,
my flesh and bones
would find the way to your door.
I’ll carry love in a heart
that was once turned to lead
now your alchemy has created gold,
and I’ll roll along this road for however long,
maybe forever more.
Until I find the right one
on that journey, I’ll soar
because my hearts wings are beating strong
and the rhyme sings only to me.
And through it all
I’ll carry love in the swept away tears
that land upon the floor
watering seeds planted when yesterday
sowed its stories for us to adore.
And I’m sure
that when I find that door, it will be left ajar
for love seeps through the air
no matter how near or how far.
