Month after month we avoided clarity

locked down in a parallel alternative reality

then the walls came crashing

with the weight of a knee

opened the floodgates for all to see

to look inside at the pain that is

spread with ease,

racism

the real insidious disease

Now the floods are surging

we can't close the gates

no longer blinded

to this river of hate

the wild sea crashes 

storms blinding flashes

as on the streets people are clashing

We can’t avoid the world

or fly off to space

can’t hide away, from this disgrace 

cannot sit silent any longer

need to make our voices 

louder and stronger

This world is ill 

so, let's ease the hurt

be the medicine, the injection, the pill

it's up to use to help it heal

it's our place, our duty

so, come on people

instead of dirt

let's paint a world of beauty

let's hold together

let's form a bond, a unity

equality

a world to live free
