Into my life
walked
A prayer
that I was unaware
I was making.
Eyes gazing
at the sky, vacant,
glazed over.
I may have whispered
a silent word,
Like striking
on some holy chord,
or finding a cheat code to the universe
and being given
all the rewards.
I may have whispered,
But If I did
then those words became misplaced
the moment they detached my grasping lips.
Did they float to the heavens
and grant me a kiss?
A wish? A coin drop
in the fountain of my recollection,
rippling reality
until it became a new creation.
I may have been mistaken,
like an alien abductee taken on
some cosmic vacation
to witness my dreams
of stardust elation,
of love for the girl
with hair painted raven
dancing amongst
the great constellations.
I may have fallen in so deeply
I'd never again awaken,
I’d never surface
from this dream
that holds me so tightly
in its sweet safe haven.
A promise leapt,
teetering on the edge of my lips,
I'd never forget this,
I'd cherish every kiss,
I'd devour the taste of bliss.
Never take for granted.
For even a second missed
would leave a lifetime of regret.
I'd hold
onto this beautiful memory
like we are dancing into eternity,
swaying away to the delicate tune of our galaxy.
Careful to never break the thin sheen of reality.
