Zeroes and ones

Clouded behind the cover

of ones and zeroes.

This screen hides the pain.

Focus on fictional heroes.

No stimulation

In this prison cell brain.

It's all a simulation

like someone is playing a game.

Still concealed.

My operating system

has no words to reveal.

I barely have thoughts anymore.

I hide behind pixels.

The mirror screen

shows my reflection, mid scream

as I sway wallowing on the floor.

Hide behind the cluttered desktop.

Words won't come, my worlds corrupt.

The whirling sound

of the disk drive going kaput.

All I can do is scroll.

Depression has got me spinning

maddeningly out of control.

I need to stop.

It's taking forever for my windows to open.

My memories are slowing.

My actions are showing up in slow motion.

The screen has frozen.

Control alt delete,

press on repeat.

Control alt delete.

Teething pains

Teething pains

from newly sharpened fangs.

Hunger pangs,

retch my stomach again.

Twisting my guts,

like an addict going cold turkey.

I'm burning up within.

 My future feels murky.

feels like I have the flu.

I need blood. It’s all that will do.

The pain is slowly

turning me,

burning inside.

I need to feed.

before I die.

Pin tight pupils,

not seeing any light.

Shackled in my cave,

slave to the night.

I need warm blood,

as soon as can be.

I feel the itch inside me

like ants crawling under skin.

My skin. Pale and weakening.

My body brittle and thin.

Barely slept,

my mind won't stop,

intrusive thoughts

paint a depressive backdrop.

I throw up.

Again.

Empty retching.

Wrenching feeling

like the next surge

will be my stomach bursting from within.

My body wants to purge.

It's like acid injected deep into marrow,

a fire inside the bones.

Sweating, shaking, shivering.

If you were near you would hear the moans.

I'm nervous, agitated,

my mind can’t take much more.

My muscles spasm, the cramps get worse.

I crave the blood to pour.

Nuclear Seas

Oh no what have I done?

Seems that I have dispatched everyone.

Now it’s just me,

my pale horse,

and the red haze

of nuclear seas.

I was at a party,

the drinks were flowing.

Really got the blood going.

All splattered over the floor.

I danced until four.

After that it's all a blur,

snippets of memory stir.

Images mixed

with melancholy.

Did I ride on a rocket,

as it flew through the air?

Oh, I think in despair

what did I do last night?

I wrack my brain.

Through the growing

nagging hangover pain.

I remember. Blinding flashes.

I remember. A sound like thunder crashes.

I remember.

I dismembered a scarecrow

whilst wearing a traffic cone.

I got lost somewhere on the way home.

Fell asleep in a bus shelter.

Aching neck bones,

I’m all off kilter.

I think there was a fight,

hugged too many passers-by.

I cried that I wanted to die.

I told anyone that would listen

that I loved them.

As I held my scythe gingerly.

Ate a kebab,

then threw it up in again.

I remember. Blinding flashes

A skeletal silhouette

against mushroom cloud.

Scythe held aloft.

my voice slurring too loud.

I am never drinking again,

there are no pubs that remain.

My stomach is still churning.

Now I'll just walk

these dead scorched plains.

Just me,

my pale horse,

and the burning red haze

of nuclear seas.
