Don’t hide your light

when it sends out so much joy far and wide

enchantingly blessing our eyes

with trance like joy that you inspire

don’t hide, when your smile sends a message

the perfect package delivered

it never fails to live up to the hype

gives hope in a world of darkness

touches fruits to make them ripe

perfection, those lips lifted into a smile of happiness

brings out the fire, that keeps us warm tonight

the look in your eyes that demands to be seen

like dynamite in a quiet room

screams at the top of its lungs, though never causing a scene

to be viewed by the illumination of a full moon

to fully appreciate their beauty, is to live

holds you tight, never letting you slip

in a vice like grip

like pincers that stroke, never tear into strips

the brilliant mind, that speaks so easily to me

sings never preaches

I feel safe and warm, like a life of sunny beaches

don’t hide your light or deny it air

let it live in the world

let the words and pictures paint visions of summertime fayre

even in the winter days, when the weather drains

it brings warmth, helps pump blood through the veins

Don’t hide your light

it deserves to be seen

not hidden inside a world unclean

full of hope and smiles

makes me laugh in times of peril and harsh trials

and if I may be so bold, I want to take your light in my hands

hold it tight, never let it go, I want to live in its lands

fall to its feet, like a captive audience of one, I’d give you my life

my breath, my blood, all of my tears cried, I’d let them sink into the dirt

to grow new plants, to help the flowers of love grow in a world of rebirth

like a crowded concert, I'd listen to your every word

singing along word for word, just me and the birds

you see I’d give my all, just to hold you

to never let you fall

it's a beautiful thing

this light within
