Sad eyes
know not whether to smile or cry
Smile for the years shared
Or tears for the sadness we know is ahead
You feel useless, with each tick of the clock,
you think is this the moment time stops
You want the pain to ease,
for both of you.
In your head you know that saying goodbye is best
but in your heart another day is no contest.
So, you give all you can
Smiles, love and hugs
You keep them warm
You shrug off feelings that make you feel glum
put that brave face on for everyone,
but inside you feel like a sky with no sun.
