Teardrops glisten in the sun beams
like dewdrops on the green.
Will you listen to my sad dreams?
Will you hold me?
as I wade through memory seas
fed by the flowing rivers of yesterday,
and can I hold you
as you do the same
So, we can cleanse ourselves
in waterfalls of hope and love,
let the crystal-clear spray
wash away
those dirty waters,
and tear us free
from the nets we find
ourselves caught in.
Will you walk
through my nightmares?
Wander in my footsteps,
listen to my fears.
Will you climb with me,
this mountain
of old weathered dreams,
reach the top
and yell out a primal scream
and listen as it echoes back
shattering the glass shell
we live within.
Will you listen
to my sad dreams?
The ones where darkness wins,
where I’m alone in the
forest of solitude
and all I see are trees
reaching out to grab me.
Wanting to entwine me into their roots
and feed from my memory.
Can I be freed from this misery?
Or is all I see, just trees
no exits
or heavenly light beams,
all there is
to this world of bad dreams.
