Why, the journey ended
a bit suddenly.
One moment I was plodding
along aimlessly.
Then unbeknownst to me,
a fellow approached.
A hooded bloke.
In a dancing duet
his words spoke,
"It's Time"
At first, I was confused,
befuddled,
unamused,
I assumed he was trying to sell me something.
I perused the shelves in my mind
to see if they could help untangle
these two words
and make some sense
of the mess left behind.
Then it clicked.
His scythe hit
the paving slab
and my body slid down
to meet the sound.
I Stood
and watched myself fall,
then he beckoned me over,
to walk into the darkness,
for a new adventure to befall.
