Love.
Now in pill form.
Take once a day,
drink it down with a kiss.
Let it dissolve upon your lips,
and await the feeling
of bliss.
Side effects may include,
a sense of longing,
wanting to be as one in
a loving song.
Never being able to decide on food,
because you want the other to be fed
the meal that suits their mood.
Common side effects
of this product also include,
a raised heartbeat
from the very moment
that eyes dare to meet.
A giddy feeling, that turns
your legs to jelly,
figuratively not literally.
A heavy feeling in the chest
when you disagree,
like at school when you fail at a test
and you know that it is history.
May also cause
hot sweats, wet palms,
bit lips and withdrawal symptoms.
Butterflies that zip around inside.
A picture behind the eyelids
that can't be moved aside.
A feeling that life has opened wide
with all new songs to play alogn the ride.
You may find
that your thoughts
become fuzzy, focusing
on all the joy of spring,
Even if you were
always a gloomy being.
You could find yourself
trying to better your mental health,
improving your self,
to be who they need you to be
and who you need to be.
You may find joy in poetry.
The flow of flowery words
no longer seem alien,
but somehow aligned in you,
like the moon and the stars
whenever you spend
an evening sharing the view.
