Take my
hollowed out heart,
This brittle porcelain shell
with fractured cracked edges.
The pieces, delicate and thin,
eggshell skin
dropping like snow,
becoming islands,
thawing
into my hands below.
Take these
scattered shards,
discarded and left
to fall apart.
Pieces, sharp,
litter the floor.
Memories,
heartbreaks,
and so much more.
Glue together
the scraps,
make the fragments
form a whole.
Refill any holes.
Let your
golden touch
renew with a
glimmering finish.
Take this worn out vessel,
once vibrant and pleasant,
now dull and
dirt speckled.
Bring it back to life.
Paint some colour
back into its faded skin.
Gild the pieces
with golden kisses.
To help the healing.
Take this rebuilt heart
wherever you may go.
Let it see the world
through eyes
that glow, show it places,
give it tastes
of exotic new spices,
let it sit beside, as you
climb aboard a cloud
and soar high
through ancient skies.
Let it be a reminder
that however broken you feel,
even the most fractured shell
can still hold great beauty within.
