Midnight tree

Let us meet

under the midnight tree,

a world away

from the aches of day,

We can be.

The world we want to see,

we only have to accept

the love that comes our way.

Don't stray from the pathway,

the moonlight

doesn't stretch

that far away.

Safely in each other's arms

Is where we should stay.

Let us sit

beneath the midnight sky.

Satellites orbiting one another,

to come together as one

and let our hearts fly.

We can hold on tight to each other

as the coldness starts to bite,

feeling the heat rise

in time with the

rhythm our heartbeats.

Over the mountain rises

we will soar

up to the farthest starlight.

Let us sift through the sands

of the midnight shoreline,

letting the granules drift

through our fingers,

like time shifting slowly

as moonlight lingers.

Every grain, a strain of our love

poured over each other's open palms.

Light beams make our eyes glisten

like frozen lakes with the look

of love held within.

If you listen

when I'm kissing you,

You will hear my heart

beating away the darkness,

and when we open our eyes,

we will be sat in a sunlit

paradise. Two hearts side by side.
